Overview
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
(COPD) affects about 30 million Americans and is the 4th leading
cause of death in the United States. Smoking is an integral part
of the diagnosis of COPD. Smoking cessation should be the primary
treatment strategy, followed by symptom management. In this Web
Workshop, Deborah M. Judd, MSN, RN-C, FNP, discusses effective
strategies for helping patients to work through the process of smoking
cessation.
